how i met w

Before I met W, I already heard about him from you since you met him during uni orientation and I was overseas. I was kinda bummed I couldn’t go because I thought it would’ve been a good time to make new friends and get a general idea of what uni life would be like. So, I was glad when you told me that you have already made a small group of friends and I can easily just join the group and become friends with them too. One of those friends was W. I was told he was one of the ones you got along with the most, and that he was funny and outgoing and that I would get along with W well. I was pretty nervous on the first day of uni - the day I officially met W along with the others in the group. I wanted to make a good impression because W and the others would likely be the people I spend the most time with over the 3 year degree. We got dessert at Meet Fresh (Taiwanese dessert place) prior to our first lecture and I remember him looking at me eating my grass jelly strangely and saying that it was weird. I remember thinking “oh no is he gonna be like one of the white kids in primary school that made fun of the food I brought for lunch?” The first interaction was a little awkward but we quickly became good friends and even now, after I stopped attending uni, W and I keep in contact almost every day and he is someone I trust and hope I continue being friends with.
